Publisher's summary

Two guys meet over a stack of romance novels. Soon they're turning pages late into the night....

Jamie Morin's college GPA drops every time a cow breaks through a fence, but he's determined to get his degree and keep his parents' Vermont dairy farm afloat. He'd rather be reading than milking, but he can't let his family down...not the way his brother did. So the last thing he needs is distraction in the form of an irresistible bookseller with a mysterious backstory.

Briar Nord has a lifetime of experience proving that happily-ever-afters only happen in his favorite books. But his luck might be changing. He's got a great job at a bookstore, and he lives in a city that puts maple syrup on everything. But Briar knows not to trust anything or anyone. And that includes a gorgeous farm boy with soulful eyes and too many obligations.

When Jamie joins Briar's romance novel book club, they both feel an instant connection. Soon they're turning pages long into the night. But Briar's past was bound to catch up with him. Sometimes, though, it takes two heroes to write a new ending....

Contains mature themes.

V&V

I love this series. It was confusing at first when I saw different authors were involved in this series but as I finished the 12 book in the series. It makes a lot of sense now. Different minds different outcomes. Love it

Enjoyable listen

This was enjoyable but not outstanding. I liked how much everyone in the book loves romance books. The main characters were good and both dealing with real problems. I didn’t expect quite the level of drama that the book ended up having. Probably a good one to check content warnings for (which I didn’t)

So sweet

A book about people who love books? Yes! This is a perfect storyline. I'm from a small town in NY filled with farmland and also near the border of Canada. The donut and crueller, the ice wine, and all the other details are on point. This book hit home on what a tight nit community can do for a newcomer. They welcome them unabashedly and treat them like part of their family. Bryer grows up in a difficult upbringing, finds a new job, new beginning, new start in life. Jamie knows family love and life, helping the farm and trying to make his dreams a reality. A book store starts it all. This is a touching way to bring two college-aged men together, have their deepest insecurities bubble to the surface, and allow the other person pull them from the abis.
Tim Paige, as always knows when are where to lay thick on the emotion and the tone necessary for the scene. One of my favorite narrators. This is my first book with Cooper North and will surely not be my last. My narrator list is forever growing, I recommend this book!
On to the next!

Your Worth

Both of the main characters deal with underestimating their own worth in different ways. Briar has been through so much that has left him feeling unworthy. Jamie is a bit trapped by love and duty. All of this leads to some dramatic moments and drama. But the ending is soft and full of love. Listened to the audio version and enjoyed it very much.

I (heart) this HEA ending

As I go book by book in the V&V series, I wasn't sure I'd connect with this couple as I had the previous ones. Completely and wonderfully wrong! Their story unfolded in a way that kept it relatable regardless of age. I'm hoping the next book addresses one of the sub characters we met in this book-- unwrapping various ways we hurt or can be erased as humans in our connections could be handled well by this author. Narration on point. The ending on this HEA story (last chapter) chef's kiss.

Happy Read

Voice acting was great, story was wonderful. I usually write a lot more about books, but this one just left me with a good feeling.
That I’m not picking it apart is a good thing.
It really is feel-good.

Most loveable main characters!

sweet romance with 2 book nerds that both feel they aren't worthy of a real relationship or true love. Narration was fantastic! but I am dying to know who Jeremy had in the room.that he didn't want Jamie to know about!

A cute story for book lovers

The performance was solid and the story is very well crafted. Some of the V&V books are more fluffy and this had great substance!

Good story. Good narration.

Jamie and Briar connect at a very difficult time in their lives. I enjoyed listening to their story as they learn to connect with one another. The resolution of the story was sweet, but by my desire for vengeance was not exactly sated. At least one parental unit needed to be shaken, and another needed to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Setting my desire for revenge aside, I enjoyed the booklover theme, and I appreciated the narration by Tim Paige and Cooper North.
