What happens when we let the light pour in?

    Today's Verses:

“Purify my conscience! Make this leper clean again! Wash me in your love until I am pure in heart. Satisfy me in your sweetness, and my song of joy will return. The places within me you have crushed will rejoice in your healing touch. Hide my sins from your face; erase all my guilt by your saving grace. Create a new, clean heart within me. Fill me with pure thoughts and holy desires, ready to please you. May you never reject me! May you never take from me your sacred Spirit!”
    –Psalms 51:7-11 TPT

    Today's Encouragement:

What happens when we let the light pour in?

When I opened the windows in my house today to let the light pour in, I was mortified at how much dust and dirt was on my floor and furniture. I couldn’t see it accumulating because we were kind of just living with our curtains closed for a week.

It’s crazy how much can build up when we aren’t seeing the dirt right before our eyes and when the light isn’t exposed to it.

It actually made me realize, what happens when we don’t expose ourselves to HIS light to be able to see all the uncleanliness in our hearts? Well, it piles up. It gets dusty, and dirty, and mucky. And the crazy thing is: The more we continue to avoid the light coming in, the worse it gets.

I asked myself this after having this revelation: “How can I confront the uncleanliness and receive purification from Jesus if I’m not letting His light pour over me, exposing the dark and dirty?”

When I spend time with Him and have fellowship with Him, that’s opening the curtains to my soul. That’s letting His light in so I can see every unclean area, every root that does not belong, and every speck of dirt that piled up in my heart.

Then something truly beautiful happens, He comes in with His glorious shining light and He cleans house as if it never happened. And then, His Holy Spirit gives me the strength to walk in the reality of being pure, forgiven, and clean.

So friends, I encourage you today - let the light in. Open the curtains, pull back the shades, and let His light shine upon you.

    Today's Prayer:

Father God, may your light shine brightly in my life. Please reveal all the things that you want me to see and expose the dark and dirty. You are so good and I know your desire is to help me reach my full potential in you. I love you and want to serve you each and every moment of my life. In Jesus' name, amen!
