As soon as Sarina Bowen announced this series I signed up. Before there was a blurb or titles I was waving my hands in the air begging for a copy. And I am so glad I did.
Tate and Maggie were awesome. They really were an enemies to lovers story and I was there for every step of the journey. I was dying to find out what the family feud was. And every single one of my theories were miles off.
This was an awesome college sports romance, which is my favourite trope. And I loved the writing, so now I have a new author to add to my stalking list. The enemies to lovers angle was perfect and the storyline was unique and super engaging.
And now I have the next two books in the series to read and my excitement level is a toddler on a sugar high. But since it's 1am and I have to adult soon I probably shouldn't even look at them yet. Maybe.

In solidarity with the book’s title, I found myself quite blindsided by the level of enjoyment I experienced while reading this story.
As enamored as I am with the creation of the multi-author, multi-line World of True North (spearheaded by Sarina Bowen), I honestly read this particular synopsis and had major reservations because of my strong dislike of stories involving blood feuds.
Enemies-to-lovers? I love that for me; I’m always keen for this trope to unfold in my romance reads. But blood feuds as a whole concept, with generations of family feeling such ingrained hatred towards others just because of conflicts experienced generations prior—yeah, that just boggles the shit out of me and exhausts my laidback, drama-free (or at least consciously trying to be) self.
Surprisingly, though, even with the family drama/family presence being high in this book, I still found myself completely immersed in the plot and with lead characters, Maggie Todd and Tate Adler.
Studious Maggie and hockey star Tate—both college students working their arses off with their family and farms in mind—have always seen one another as the enemy. Their neighbouring farms and their large extended families, have hated each other for as long as Maggie and Tate can remember, and it feels only natural to carry on with the loathing, with plenty of shade being thrown every chance they get, on campus and off.
Their dynamic is full of snappy banter and cutting vitriol, but that doesn’t stop their mutual attraction from eventually getting the better of them and throwing everything into question.
While having to share a stall at a local market each weekend to sell their goods, Maggie and Tate realise that their commonalities far outweighed their differences, and that, just maybe, their surprising new connection might just be the first step in healing old family wounds, if only they can convince their family to stop hating for one second and actually listen for once.
As expected, I couldn’t stand half the family members in this story. The grandfathers, in particular, (one asshole drunk and the other a sexist pig) were just abhorrent, and it was so depressing to me that their children and their children’s children could all just buy in to the poison they spewed, so willing to just hate the neighbours because “that’s the way it’s always been.”
Thankfully, Maggie and Tate, and a handful of other family members, were bright enough to question the origins of the feud and start trying for change for the better, especially once the realities of Maggie and Tate’s romantic entanglement changed the scene, wanted or not.
I personally think that strong writing is probably the source of my enjoyment here, despite some of the themes. Denault is a new-to-me author but damn if I didn’t completely devour this book, start-to-finish, like a woman’s half starved, I was that engrossed.
A few things before I wrap up, in case I didn’t make these facts clear:
• The enemies-to-lovers trope was really done well for a contemporary book. Maggie and Tate felt like true enemies at the offset, so the transition to something that grew out of mutual respect and attraction felt genuine and hard won.
• Although there isn’t much in the way of on-page ice hockey, this is very much a sports romance, with hunky hockey stud Tate embodying the book boyfriend of many a person’s dreams.
• This may be a new adult book, but it’s explicit AF. The sex, when it happened, was explosive and steamy and very much a pleasant and welcomed surprise.
• Some of the support cast may have been deplorable assholes, but the majority of side characters were a welcomed addition to the story. Maggie’s sister, uncles and her friends, and even Tate’s hockey buddies, all played awesome little roles that added to the levity of the story.
Like Maggie and Tate, I was blindsided by this story in the best way possible.

I started reading this because I really wanted to read #2 in the series and even though I checked that you didn't need to read them in order my OCD ass wouldn't let me skip over this one. I am so glad I didn't let myself miss out on this really fun read and new to me author! Loved it!

Wow Wow Wow!!
Blindsided was the first story by Victoria Denault I've read and I loved it, I couldn't put it down.
We are in Vermont where there are two neighbouring farmer families that have a feud for generations. The Adlers and the Todds hate each others, they can't stand the presence of one another.
Tate Adler and Maggie Todd go to the same college and they also attend the same course. They are good at ignoring each other until a day their lives collide and Maggie having something up her sleeve she forces Tate to share their booth at the farm market. It isn't easy to work side by side every Sunday because they are really champions to push each other wrong buttons but from a venomous comment to the other they begin to feel a strong attraction. Will they keep their relationship a secret or will their families find it out and disown them?
Tate and Maggie journey was entertaining, I adored their bantering and witty comments. They are two good persons who unfortunately were born in a hatred environment. I loved how they work hard to try to save and improve their farms. I was caught up in their lives and supported both of them since the begin.
In a modern, hotter, sexier and way funnier Romeo and Juliet tale Victoria Denault delivered a spectacular novel. I expected some more hockey but it maybe would have stolen the attention from the main point of the farms..
I want to shout out about this book far and wide because it is really good and everyone should read it if new adult, college novels are your beat.

Oh my the snark, the insults, the mean behavior between the H/h, (college students Maggie and Tate) whose farming families have a lifetime of bad blood between them...jeez, though sometimes funny, it was starting to get too much of a bad thing for me. And just about when I was wondering if the insults would EVER end....yowza, this book took a very sexy turn!
I won’t say much more, except that I was totally invested in the characters and story, the writing style was page turning, the reason behind the bad blood was creative, and Maggie (‘Firecracker’) and Tate (‘Tater Tot’) were one HOT couple, and that there’s a very satisfying epilogue on the author’s website that made me smile.
This book takes place in Sarina Bowen’s True North world, so if you’re a fan of that series, you’re sure to enjoy this one. This is my first book by this author, and I’ll be sure to investigate what else she has written.

I loved revisiting Tate and Maggie via audio! Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon were absolutely perfect. They were able to convey all the excitement and emotion so well and I enjoy all of the different tones and variations that they use to differentiate characters. Their voices complement each other very well and the audiobook made me fall in love with Tate and Maggie all over again. Definitely recommend this one!

Blindsided was exactly the book that I needed. It was hilarious, heartfelt, sexy, and so much fun! I was already a fan of Victoria Denault's books, but this book blew me away. It fits seamlessly into the world of True North, and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. This childhood enemies to lovers, forced proximity, new adult sports romance will hook you right from the start.
Is it bad to say that I loved how snarky and mean Tate and Maggie were to each other at times? LOL It wasn't cruel or vicious, but was more like a really good roast. They both gave as good as they got and the chemistry was off the charts. They make some mistakes and judgements about the other early on, but the shift occurred so naturally and really added to all the build up. And boy was it worth it. *fans self* Two words. The barn.
There is some drama along the way, but I appreciated that it was more external to Tate and Maggie. Once things get going, their feelings and wishes are clear. I loved that it was Tate who often initiated the conversations between them that moved things forward. The majority of the drama in the book was centered around the Todd and Adler families and Victoria Denault tied all the pieces together so brilliantly. It set up the conflict nicely and added a fantastic twist to the end. I would have loved to see just a little more of Tate and Maggie's progression and evolution as a couple though. Blindsided introduces readers to some wonderful side characters and I'm hoping we might see a story for Daisy and Hank, as well as Jace in the future. The bonus epilogue was chef's kiss perfect and I can't recommend this book enough!

What a fun kick- off to the new Moo U series which is set in Sarina Bowen's True North world which, honestly, feels a little like home to me.
Blindsided is a true enemies-to-lovers story, sometimes heavy on the enemies until the scales slowly - and inevitably - tip in the other direction. Sparks flew between Tate and Maggie immediately as their verbal spats caught flame and sizzled into some fiery physical chemistry. I loved the way they evolved. I loved how their feelings for each other seemed to catch them by surprised as their physical connection bled into a more satisfying soul-deep connection. I loved the heat between them, but honestly – I loved the sweet, tender moments between them best of all.
This is truly a Romeo and Juliet style story. The Adlers and Todds were not friendly rivals either. The rivalry, and the anger bubbling beneath it was very real. I will admit that this plot point was sometimes a little hard for me to understand. I didn't always connect with it and it sometimes felt immature (and not just between Tate and Maggie who, in the end, were perhaps the most mature of anyone). I also felt like it maybe took up too much of the story when all I really wanted was more sparky chemistry and hate-to-love-you drama. I would have liked to have delved more into the deliciously angsty feelings that Tate and Maggie were fighting, and maybe some of the emphasis taken off the families actually fighting.
That said, I did feel like the culmination at the end of all this family drama was incredibly satisfying. There were some twists and turns that I didn’t see coming, and once everything was explained, the pieces all fell into place and I really enjoyed how it all wrapped up.
In the end, Blindsided was a really fun read. It was light, and sexy, and – as I mentioned - a wonderful start to the Moo U series. I can’t wait to dive into more! ~ Shelly, 4 Stars

Blindsided is the true definition of enemies-to-lovers, like Montague and Capulet level, because the Addler-Todd feud is just as legendary!
Tate and Maggie have known, and hated, each other since they were kids. Now they are sophomores at Moo U, while Tate is the hot talented hockey player with a very certain bright future in the NHL, Maggie is really smart and is planning big things with her sister for their family farm. The Adler’s farm is right next to the Todd’s farm and that just keeps the feud very much alive. I found it very funny that both Tate and Maggie hated each other, and each other’s families, without really understanding why. Nobody knows exactly how their families feud started, except grandfather Todd and grandfather Adler and they’re not sharing that info.
This story made me laugh a lot, Maggie and Tate tactics of sabotaging each other, their banter, how everyone in their families were always willing to participate in their crazy ideas just to get the upper hand provided so many hilarious scenes. My favorite character in this book is definitely Tate. He was amazing! Hot, sexy, funny, smart, very loyal to his family, really hard working and even though he definitely hated the Todds, sometimes he questioned why exactly he was supposed to hate them. I loved Tate! Maggie was also a great character, hot, sexy, funny, really smart, fierce, never backing out of a fight but I had an issue with her plans for her family farm and Adler’s farm (not going to be very specific because I don’t want to spoil any details). That annoyed me and it kind of bothered me that her plans remained the same even when she was already involved with Tate. Fortunately, that changed a little bit later into the story and Maggie slowly revealed her heart.
The chemistry between Tate and Maggie was perfect and it exploded! These two together almost burned my Kindle! I loved the push and pull between them, loved that we get to know how their families feud started and I wasn’t close to guessing that one: totally unexpected and really enjoyable. The ending was flawless and I loved it.
Overall, a very entertaining, steamy, full of banter enemies to lovers romance with amazing characters and perfect chemistry. Strongly recommended to anyone who enjoys a very well written enemies to lovers romance. I’ll definitely read the next books in the Moo U series!

I started this series off by reading SLAPSHOT, and because I loved the setting and characters so much that I decided to go back to the beginning.
Straight away I knew I was going to love Maggie & Tates enemies to lovers story - I loved getting to know all the characters more and can’t wait to carry on reading the rest of the books in the series.

What a way to start off the journey of Moo U!
I don’t think I can explain the delight I felt when I was reading this story. Shenanigans running amok kids! A.MOK I say! The thing is, the way that Tate and Maggie came after each other was more hilarious than mean. It was a thing of beauty. The best game of tit-for-tat ever played that turned into more naturally and easily. I couldn’t believe it! One minute I’m LMAO and the next I am fanning myself! They had chemistry in every interaction and it just made the story that much more intriguing! Throw in a twist here and there and BAM, you’ve got one of the best rom-coms I have read in quite some time. It wasn’t slapstick silly either. It was naturally funny, and I could actually see the story happening for real!
I am so excited to read not only more stories in the Moo U series, but also all the other series in the World of True North!! If you’re looking for a fun, explosive, truer than true enemies-to-lovers romance, look no more and #oneclick this book today!

Maggie and Tate grew up hating each other. Their families, especially their grandfathers have always hated each other.

Maggie and Tate hate each other so much - even though they have no idea why.
Of course there's also mega attraction - which makes everything even harder. LOL!
I loved it.
But it's not all hate-to-love fun. We also have some serious farm-family-business stuff to deal with - on both sides. I was on the edge of my seat hoping this would all end well for everyone!
Great start into this new True North World that Sarina Bowen created. But what did we expect, right?!
I could read these kinds of books every day for the rest of eternity!
I also wouldn't mind seeing this whole world on Netflix one day!
Can't wait to get more Vermont soon!

This was a wonderful romance! I have read and enjoyed Victoria Denault's work in the past so I was really excited when I learned that her book would kick off the new Moo U Hockey series set in Sarina Bowen's World of True North. I went into this book with fairly high expectations and they were all met. This book had everything that I was looking for and I had a great time with it.
Maggie Todd and Tate Adler can never be together. The Todds and Addlers both own farms that happen to be right next to one another. These two families have hated each other for as long as anyone can remember. The story opens with Maggie and Tate picking up their two grandfathers from jail after they got into a fight at city hall over the last spot at the farmer's market. Both families need that spot.
Tate does what he needs to do to help support his family and the farm with going to school and playing hockey. His job leads him to cross paths with Maggie and gives her the blackmail material she needs to convince him to share the spot at the farmers market. These two know that they are supposed to hate each other but they can't fight the pull that they have anytime they are together.
I loved Tate and Maggie together. I had such a good time with this enemies to lovers story. The chemistry between these two was off the charts and the banter was a whole lot of fun. They actually had a whole lot to overcome in order to have the chance to be together. They were perfect together every time they had the chance to be alone together but their families didn't make things easy for them. I really enjoyed watching them fight for each other.
I would definitely recommend this book to others. This was a very well done hockey romance with a fantastic cast of characters and a wonderful romance. I cannot wait to read more of this talented author's work and future installments in the Moo U Hockey series.

Was a decent story if I could've gotten over how pretty awful the characters acted. Self-absorbed (yeah, I know they're young adults, but still) and uncaring of others. First, a totally personal thing, being gross about objectifying a person to their face - of either sex - to me is always very uncomfortable, esp when justified by "well, the other side does it, so..." And then blackmailing someone who is desperate enough to need money to do a job that they normally wouldn't or couldn't, then go to the lengths one of the characters did to ruin someone's future so completely for completely petty reasons, not to mention being so blithe about taking advantage of someone else's misfortune and waiting for them to fail and taking their home where their family is and they grew up... Yeah. Just found nothing to like and more and more to dislike in the characters as the story went on.

While the book was well written, I could not enjoy it because the basis of the story is the female MC and her sister blackmailing the male MC with photos. He said he did not consent, that the photos were a violation, and begged for the photos to be deleted. I could not root for a relationship between these people.

Tate & Maggie grew up on neighboring farms and their families have been feuding for decades. Now in college, Tate & Maggie are both attending the same university and can’t ignore each other as much as they previously did growing up. When Maggie catches Tate in a compromising position, she has leverage to blackmail him into sharing the Fall Market booth every weekend. And somewhere along the way while fighting over customers, Tate & Maggie realize neither of them are the enemy after all. And just maybe, they could work together & possibly even fall in love.

4.5 Tater Tot Stars
So this one really surprised me. I’ve never even heard of Victoria Denault, so I didn’t know what to expect. I adored this! And it was a solid follow up from Boyfriend by Sarina, and that is a VERY tall order! I really want more stories from this character set, like Daisy and Hank :) I loved the forbidden lovers plot, like modern day Montagues and Capulets only with goat cheese and bruised apples. Super cute and a definite recommend for a fun and sexy hockey romance.

Tate and Maggie are from families that have been feuding for years.
This author is new to me. I could not resist another tale from Vermont.
I loved their chemistry. I would say it's a slow burn. This gave time for the supporting characters to
get involved in some shenanigans of their own.
I love how the source of the feud was kept a secret for most of the book. I wanted to say enough already! But now, we need Maggie and Tate to warm up to each other. Romeo & Juliet? Hatfields and McCoys?
This is a great NA romance and I highly recommend. 1st person POV. alternating Tate & Maggie.

I have enjoyed Denault's books in the past, so I snagged this one up quick (KU)! I love the enemies to lovers trope and you add in a hottie in hockey skates and I'm swooning! Maggie and Tate have seriously feuding families-which is sometimes hilarious. I loved the banter between these two.

This one was super cute and I believe fits perfectly in the Moo U universe. It seriously gave me Sarina Bowen vibes, and y'all know how much I love Sarina's books! I loved the enemies to lovers trope and loved the relationship and chemistry between Tate and Maggie. The storyline was on point with the other Sarina books. The audiobook narration is also fantastic. This one is definitely a winner and gave me all the feels. This is my favorite book by Victoria Denault but it definitely won't be my last!

This hilariously funny enemies-to-lovers romance packed in all the laughs along with some steamy and swoon-worthy moments that left me captivated the entire time.
Magnolia "Maggie" Todd and Tate Adler's families are sworn enemies, which means they should have NEVER found themselves tangled up in any sort of romantic relationship with each other, but with chemistry so off the charts between them, it's no surprise that they did. There's a thin line between hate and love that these two shouldn't have crossed, but once that line is broken there is NO going back!
The feuding family drama between the Todd and Adler families added to the storyline and I really loved the surprise as to how it all began. Basically be prepared for that OMFG moment towards the end because it will definitely blow your mind. Overall, a great start to a new interconnect series of standalones and I cannot wait to read all of the books in the Moo U universe, especially if I keep discovering new authors like this amazing gem right here. Victoria Denault did a phenomenal job setting things up and she will surely gain some new readers with this story!

I loved Blindsided. It has a bit of everything. A family feud, hate to love chemistry, hilarious antics, a swoony hockey hero and sassy heroine set in Sarina Bowen’s True North World. I devoured this.
Maggie is smart, sassy and sweet. She is part of the Todd family whom rival the Adler’s.
Tate plays hockey at Vermont University. He is hard working and loves his family despite their flaws and issues with the Todd’s. He didn’t have any qualms about putting them in their place when it came to the families never ending feud.
Maggie and Tate have fantastic chemistry. The hate to love made for some bedroom scenes that had me fanning myself. Although there were some qualities of the characters that I found slightly immature it in no way took from my overall love for their story. This was my first book by Victoria Denault and I adored her writing. I’ll most definitely be on the lookout for more of her work in the future.

How can books about a sport I know nothing about be so comforting to me? I have no idea but here we are all the same. It felt like it had been a while now since I had read any book about college hockey players and when I was presented the opportunity to request some eARCs for the Moo U series in Sarina Bowen's World of True North, I jumped for joy. Not only that but this in particular had hockey AND Vermont farmers. What more could I want?
Maggie Todd and Tate Adler's families have been at it for YEARS. No one remembers why the feud started and no one is interesting in ending it. THAT IS.....until these two are forced to work together and find out that fierce dislike can easily morph into burning passion if they're not careful (spoiler alert, they're not). I really enjoyed the dynamic between these two and the push and pull that never ceased, even after they form a tentative truce that evolves into a whole lot more.
As family dramas tend to, this one unsurprisingly featured some twists and turns and secrets to be uncovered that kept me on my feet until the very end (though I had my suspicions, I did NOT figure things out correctly). I personally have never experienced that level of family chaos and am so thankful for it.
Overall I thought this was a solid start to the Moo U series and a great introduction to certain characters that I'm sure we will see in future books!

This was my first book by Victoria Denault, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but oh my gosh did this book deliver! I stayed up half the night because I didn't want to stop reading it.
Blindsided is a hilarious, enemies to lovers tale that is steamy, swoony and unexpectedly emotional.
Most people see Tate Adler as the gorgeous, charming hockey star of Moo U. No one really sees the guy he is beneath the surface. The one that is struggling to help keep his family's business from going under, even if that means working a less than desirable job. One he wants NO one to find out about.
Maggie Todd is also trying to her her family's farm. She has great ideas to grow their business, if only her grandfather would take her seriously. Then an opportunity falls on her lap, and she has to take it. Only it means spending time with Tate Adler; her sworn enemy.
Everyone knows the Adler's and Todd's do NOT like each other. At all. The feuding even goes back a few generations.
But suddenly, the more time Maggie and Tate spend time together, the more they...like each other. Sure, they still bicker, but they soon find themselves stealing kisses and having a hard time keeping their hands off each other. Not to mention all the feelings that enter the picture. But they are living in a modern day, farm style Romeo and Juliet situation and it seems impossible for someone not to get hurt.
Maggie and Tate's transition from enemies to sorta friends to lovers is everything. They compliment each other SO well, and oh my gosh do they have some sizzling chemistry. Phew!!

This book completely blindsided me. In the best possible way. I loved everything about it. It is beautifully written for starters. And it is literally unputdownable. I just didn’t want to stop reading. Victoria Denault wrote a masterpiece. The story, the characters, the setting, the plot twist, the ending! Blindsided deserves more than five stars. It’s brilliant!
Blindsided is a very entertaining, laugh-out-loud, steamy, and emotional enemies to lovers slash secret relationship slash forbidden love story that will have you rushing to the end to find out what happens. And I’m telling you, the way everything comes together at the end is just brilliant.
Tate Adler and Maggie Todd live in neighboring farms, but a feud between their families has made then lifelong enemies. And they have no idea why. But the hate is real, though. And their banter is hilarious. Their animosity is mostly inherited and it developed when they were kids, so when they find themselves forced to spend more time together as adults, they realize that they actually have a very volatile and explosive chemistry. And when it catches fire, things will never be the same again.
I loved everything about Blindsided. It is hilarious, but it has an emotional counterbalance that gives it depth, not only to the story but to the characters and what they’re going through. It’s the perfect introduction to the Moo U series based on Sarina Bowen’s World of True North. The college atmosphere blends perfectly with the rural environment and the hockey. And the side characters will have you wanting for more. I cannot wait for all these hockey players!
I also loved the Vermontyness of it. I’m sure that’s not even a word, but it should be. All the farm talk, the farmers’ market shenanigans, the family dynamics, the apples, and the goat cheese insults had me smiling from ear to ear. And let’s not forget the barn.

What a huge pile of swoony heart eyed emojis this was. There’s lil’ ol’ me trying to find something good to read when I stumbled across this by an author I hadn’t heard of and thought why the hell not.
Cut to a day off spent devouring it in one sitting. And the reason? Two words. Tate.Adler. Okay make that five words. Tate Adler and Maggie Todd. They were five full fat stars of all that is holy on the romance world.
Tight ass and thigh muscled hockey playing hero … check
Sassy and independent, no bullshit taking heroine … check
A enemies to lovers romance that doesn’t include any degrading bullying … check
A family feud that runs deep and causes untold amounts of high jinx … check
A swoon filled love story with goosebump inducing hate but really love fuelled sex … cheeeccckkkk
I kid you not Tate Adler could take me in a barn a.n.y.t.i.m.e. In fact he could take me anywhere, I would not put up a fight.
Anyway where was I? Oh yes. There’s banter galore, a ton of side characters, a fabulous storyline, lots of steam, lots of romantic moments, lots of tones you’ll go “ooh” and “aah” because your sole is comforted and your faith in true love and good writing is restored.
There’s 11 books in this series all by different authors and all I’m saying is the other 11 better live up to the very high expectations Victoria Denault has set!!

There’s 11 books in this series all by different authors and all I’m saying is the other 11 better live up to the very high expectations Victoria Denault has set!!
