FB pages aren’t what they used to be. Many folks still think that “if you build it, they will come”… Sadly this is no longer the case. Even established businesses can’t just plunk down a FB page and expect people to come running. The gold rush is over!
You should expect to have to put some $$$ into advertising in order to reach new people. Test a small budget first and then gauge the results. Like Google, FB’s advertising products are effective. That’s why they make the big bucks!
Speed up the disclaimer/consent process with online waiver forms that allow the user to sign on screen using their mouse/finger, and the submission comes to your email as a ready-to-go PDF.
Envision yourself as the hero of the day when your prospects or clients don’t have to:
1) Download a PDF.
2) Print PDF.
3) Sign and fill out PDF.
4) Scan as new PDF.
5) Attach and email PDF.
Most users fall off at step 3… Remember, we can’t expect Granny to scan and attach your forms! Always think of Granny!

2 weeks ago it dawned on me that I need to post about the problems I’ve solved for people… Saying what services you offer or always ‘selling’ gets old pretty fast. I think we’re all sick of being perpetually marketed to.
At least when you are talking about problems you’ve solved, you might actually catch someone’s eye who’s having the same problem.
Maybe you solve the same problems day-in and day-out, or maybe you crush a variety of problems and you’ve never assembled them all into a nice list… MAKE A LIST, and let that list become your social posting pot of gold.
Sometimes we get hung up on the simple things, other times it is something more important, like the name of your business.
People often come to me when they’re in the early stages of creating their business, and they are stumped about what to name their new venture.
Some of these conversations are fun, some of them more thoughtful and imaginative, but the end result is the same - A brand is created, and a business takes a big step towards entering the world…
My favourite example is a company that helps businesses with data organization and automation (specifically with Microsoft Excel). They were trying to come up with a name, and one of my suggestions was based on a very common spreadsheet action “Adding Rows”, which became Addrow, and poof, a business and a snazzy brand was born :)

4) Make sure your site looks good on mobile phones!

YOU have to do all of the work, while they site back and take your money every single month.
Wait… You’re paying THEM for YOU to have to do all the work?
