Publisher's summary

It was just a bet . . . until feelings got involved.

This job sucks but someone's got to do it. My readers expect me to chronicle my very real, very steamy encounters in my novels. I'd never want to disappoint my fans, but the creative well has run a bit dry. Burlington, Vermont, seems like a good place to fill it up. This town offers a tempting array of artists, craftsmen, farmers, lumbersexuals . . . and so many beards.

But no one prepared me for Brody. He's young. He's hot. He's definitely a grump. And he's getting under my skin. Where I want him is under my bed sheets.

When my friend bets I'll never be able to get Brody there, I make winning my mission. Turns out being with Brody is more than a plot device. He's so very wrong for my life . . . but is he right for my heart?

Contains mature themes.

Insatiable!!!

I truly enjoyed this auto book. It was interesting, funny, emotional and whimsical. I can’t wait to listen to another book from this author. Also, the narrator was very very good as well.

A Good Read

This was the predictable "fake relationship" trope but I think I enjoyed this book more because of Kale Williams' performance. It was a good read to pass the time for me but as soon as I finish this review I won't think about this book again.

Good story, would've been better if it was longer

The story is great and I loved the narration. Got through it pretty much in one go and enjoyed the fact that it developed the town's story even further.
So please understand that I am being persnickety when I say the following. It could have been longer and more developed. When the author character in the book said he had 24000 words so he's half way through his next book, it confused me. As far as I know, the industry standard for a novel is 80,000 to 100,000 words. Not that quantity is quality, but it would have been a chance to develop the characters better, make their feelings more complex, and maybe show a little more of what their happily ever after looks like. The other thing that bothered me, and this is a personal pet peeve, is the whole him and me versus he and I thing. I don't understand why writers of all people mess this up so much. It's not that difficult to tell the difference between a subject of a sentence and an object of a prepositional phrase. but in this book it goes to step further because the phrase is used correctly and then the author character internally sneers at the person using it, saying it's grammatically incorrect. Argh! Where are the editors in all this.
All in all, it's a good book and I would definitely read other books by this author, but maybe not the best in this series.

Kinda short

Not bad but it was too short for my liking. But I still love this series

It had potential, but was mostly meh.

Kale Williams narration saved this one for me. I think if I had read it in my have ended up being a dnf. But luckily it was a quick listen and I powered through.
I like the idea of the plot, but the characters didn't work for me. Logan's character was just a little too much, and while I usually love a character like Brody- a little damaged and broken hearted, he was also a little unlikeable, too.
So this was a tough one for me. I'd probably give the story a 2.5* because I just wanted it to be over. I rounded up to 3* because I did like the ending.

Cute Story

Poor broken Brody! I just wanted to wrap him up in a hug. Sweet story though and I thought the ending was cute. I absolutely love Kale Williams, so I was excited for him to narrate.

The Only Saving Grace...

... was the narrator. I'm not going to lie, I DNF'd this with just 28 minutes left because I couldn't be bothered wasting anymore of my time. Logan was an asshole douchebag who gets mad after Brody founds out he made a BET about getting him to sleep with Logan, which he had every right to be pissed about, and Logan treats his other hookups like shit. Brody does nothing but whine and boohoo throughout the entire book, even tries to resist help despite his product not selling, and his parents are atrocious. Theo is a walking stereotype when you think of ex-fiance who gets over it way too fast even though they were the one to propose. Don't even get me started on the sex scenes. I spent way more time zoned out than actually listening to this drivel.

Nothing at all was believable about this story and honestly I'm upset I spent my money on this. Don't waste your time.
