Providing Switch Adapted Electronics at NO COST to residents of Michigan who identify as being an individual with a disability.
What is a Switch Adapted Electronic? Switch adapted electronics are devices that have been modified so that their original/internal button(s)/switch(es) are redirected to an external switch that has improved accessibility for the user. Better accessibility could include size, shape, weight, fine motor demands, customizable placement, etc. of the external switch.
For example, if the built in on/off button on a walking dinosaur stuffed animal is too small or hard to reach for a particular user, then modifying the electronic for use with an external switch could offer the user a larger activation surface and longer cord to allow for ideal placement of the switch for access.
