An enthralling, slow burn, romantic suspense novel, co-written by Ava Harrison and Vanessa Fewings.
So many twists I did not see coming. I stayed up until 2am listening to the audiobook… I could not sleep until I’d reached the end.
Connor Crais and Vanessa Edwin’s emotionally charged performances are visceral and engaging, from the Prologue right through to the Epilogue.

I received an ALC of this audiobook, and am leaving my honest review.

A sweet ending

I heard this audio and I have to say the narrators did a great job to bring the characters to life especially Anya. Cassius didn’t so so much for me. The tone was the same all the way through so I didn’t feel the passion and urgency this story was telling.

Ava did a good job but I just feel the stories are the same. And just as the story gets to the juicy parts the end comes too quickly with no suspense at all. I mean I did like the story but it just didn’t hold my attention.

If you like kidnapping reads with romantic themes here and there then you will enjoy it. I just feel it had more room to be bigger than what it was.

I should have known that I would fall in love with this book by Ava Harrison and Vanessa Fewings. These authors have both taken me on a journey through their books that I will not soon forget, however when I tell you I really enjoyed this story, set in New Orleans, I really did enjoy reading the book 📖📚. This is the story of Cassius Calvetti, he comes from old money 💰, his father built one of the greatest shipping empires in the world. Then there's Anya, daughter of Stephen Glassman a very dangerous man, who was Cassius nemesis. This story has drama and more drama. What you 🤔 is going to happen well it's so far beyond what you think. Get this story of Cassius Calvetti and Anya Glassman you will enjoy. Thanks Ava Harrison and Vanessa Fewings I hope you do this again soon.

The prologue of this book elicited enough emotion that it had me choked up ... so sad what the 14 yr old Cassius, the H, went through. It's no wonder he became the man he did and not the one he should have been. After the prologue, the story picks up 14 yrs later at Anya's, the h's, 18th birthday party. She is the daughter of Cassius's arch enemy, the man who was responsible for everything Cassius lost and suffered as a youth.

Anya is a part of his master plan for revenge. Cassius has waited 14 years to get his revenge, but when he finally puts it into motion, he finds himself hesitant to follow through with his original plan and he's not happy about it. Anya is not what he expected and her life was not how he had envisioned it. As they discover truths about each other and their pasts, desires and plans change. She sees through to his heart, the man beneath the one he portrays and she's determined to find him and bring him into the light. But she's keeping a secret she discovered right before she was taken and there is more to it than even she knows as well as forces working against them!

This book is pretty action-packed ... kidnapping, misguided betrayals, attempted murders, lots of danger. It will hold your interest from page 1. Characters are well developed and storyline is good. My only 2 complaint are: 1. I would have like to read about the meeting with the "others" and know what became of them as well. I won't say more as I don't want to give anything away; and 2. The level of emotion elicited in the prologue and in the first part of the book, did not seem to hold through the entire story, particularly in the conclusion. Still none of this took anything away from the story. Solid 4.5 stars!

Good mystery, great love story!

I had no idea what to expect from this book - it’s very different. It would be easy to assume that it would follow the typical pattern of other dark romance books, but it’s so much better. The mystery is a good one, I’ll leave it at that. What I really love is that Cassius and Anya’s love story builds so slowly, and we are privy to many intimate moments. It’s not an instalove which I appreciate. So often in these books, the writer just skims over conversations and events with their couple, but in The Ravishing, we get to see them. I only found one mistake - when they are checking into the hotel, the word elicit is used instead of illicit. But that mistake did not diminish the joy of reading the book.

As skeletons emerge and the secrets begin to unravel they each find themselves at a crossroad in their lives
One way is known
The other an unknown that could be either their damnation or salvation
The problem is deciphering between what is real and what is misdirection

The overall tone of the story is more one of self-discovery and romance dotted with some mystery than dark. The relationship between these two is sweet and well-formed
At about 60% the story suddenly takes off at which point I was riveted to my recliner white knuckle grip on my kindle screaming directions - a bit psycho looking but I could see what was on the other side of the wall!
