Not only does this create a long-lasting and durable set of numerals, but it also means that many of the techniques used in dice-casting can be applied to this second casting stage! Metallic numbers? No problem! Transparent dice with opaque numbers? You got it! Vibrant glow-in-the-dark, opalescent, pearlescent, or multi-color numbers are also entirely possible with these dice!

**Some more technical details about these commissions**

DiCast Dice are labor intensive, requiring a full sanding and polishing process to reveal the numbers and profile the edges. As such, DiCast Dice commissioned take a while to produce. I have a 4-week runway set for these commissions currently, but as with any custom dice project I ask for your patience and consideration for unforeseen occurrences during the creation process. Casting, recasting, and the like are entirely likely to occur during the process of dialing in the perfect DiCast set for you!

Since the process requires casting a shell around the first casting and then sanding to reveal the numbers, some dice may have shallower numbers than others. In addition, some numbers may develop voids that will be backfilled with a hard UV resin. Despite using a pressure pot for the castings, the numbers may still retain some air bubbles that can’t be quashed. The UV resin is resilient and of the same hardness as the cast material, so the only difference is in appearance.
