Tell Congress to Support Medicare Payment Reforms Now
The Medicare Physician Fee Schedule has faced year-over-year cuts and does not currently have a built-in annual inflationary update. Medicare payment for providers billing under the fee schedule has failed to keep pace with the true cost of running a practice. Combined with record inflation and the lingering effects of a highly disruptive pandemic, this financial strain is impacting Medicare patients’ access to the services they need.

Congress is currently working on drafting legislation that could include provisions from H.R. 879, aimed at addressing the inadequacies in the fee schedule and ensuring greater stability for providers and patients alike.

This bipartisan legislation would do more than simply eliminate the 2.8% cut that took effect on Jan. 1 for dozens of providers paid under the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule; it would also deliver a payment increase for these providers for the remainder of the year.

APTA continues to strongly advocate for comprehensive reforms to the fee schedule, but we need your help. Your voice matters, and your personal stories are powerful. Legislators need to hear directly from you.
