Pablo Benjamin Nieto Mercado (Mexico, 1979) is an engineer/alchemist whose proposals are presented in various formats integrating improvisation, clown, sound performance, and collaborative works. His work reflects on the role of technology in human communication and the transformation of territory. In 2008, he founded Melvin Records, a label dedicated to experimental audiovisual production. His production includes sound art, net art, experimental video, documentary, and installation. He disseminates and exhibits his work in Mexico, Bolivia, Guatemala, Colombia, Ecuador, Uruguay, Argentina, Brazil, Italy, France, Russia, Germany, the United States, England, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and India. His audiovisual and experimental production includes 20 albums, 14 installations, 30 short films, and the feature film "La Cuenca de los Rios de Piedra," which participated in Bolivia Lab 2016 and won the Pitch Prize for Latin American Projects. The project was supported by Bolivia Lab and IMCINE in 2016, FONCA and Mercato Internazionale Audiovisivo in 2017, Doc Society in 2020, and won first place at the Tukuru International Film Festival 2020 and first place as a Documentary Feature at FINI 2022.
