A state senator wants marijuana edibles sold in Oklahoma to be shaped like a marijuana leaf and transferred in a clear container at the point of sale, said Tulsa medical marijuana attorney Stephen Cale

State. Sen. David Bullard (R-Durant) filed his SB1219 seeking to require those changes.

Under current law, marijuana and marijuana products such as edibles are supposed to in a child-resistant package when sold, Cale said.

If passed into law, Bullard’s bill also would require that all edibles be in a child-resistant container that is clear when sold.

Under Bullard’s bill, edibles in a solid or semi-solid form must be in the shape of a marijuana leaf.

The deadline to introduce new bills is January 20, 2022, Tulsa medical marijuana attorney Stephen Cale said.

The State Legislature will convene at Noon on Feb. 7, 2022. The Oklahoma Constitution requires regular sessions of the Legislature to adjourn by 5:00 p.m. on the last Friday of May. In 2022, that will be May 27th.
