Meet Latasha

Latasha Barr Lewis is a nationally-recognized educator and advocate. With over 20 years of experience in education and 10 years as an advocate and Education/Parenting Coach. She has worked to help parents, communities, and employers reimagine the possibilities for individuals with disabilities. Latasha knows first-hand the obstacles parents and caregivers face raising children with challenges, as she is the mother of two teenage sons with varying support needs. Her oldest son is a computer and technology enthusiast and is on the autism spectrum. Her youngest son is an entrepreneur and is impacted by a traumatic brain injury.

Through her personal experiences and education, Latasha created a systematic approach to development that isolates and assesses emotions, behaviors, and learning to identify small processes that can be modified to produce significant results. Using this process, Latasha has worked with parents across the country using her signature H.O.P.E. Journal to create parenting and education strategies.

In 2018, Latasha and her then 9-year-old son, Camden, co-founded Cam's Coffee Company. Cam's Coffee Company was the first organization in the Piedmont Triad area of North Carolina to launch a social enterprise specifically to provide employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Additionally, Cam's has provided job skills training for students with disabilities from the local school system.

Latasha holds degrees in Early Childhood Education, Elementary education, and Science education. She is currently completing a doctoral degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment with a concentration in Special Education.
